Orthoceras and Others Fossils

TITLE GONIOTITE AND ORTHOCERAS PLATE 18453D
DESCRIPTION Warm browns and reds dominate the polished matrix stone that house this single goniotite and orthoceras. It is alive with implied movement like a contemporary decorative stone plaque. Both fossils are over 350 million years old and each had external shells that were divided into chambers. Goniotites were a form of early ammonite and orthoceras were the first recognisable animals, being ancestors to our modern day squid.
