TITLE ROUGH JASPER
DESCRIPTION Jasper is a form of chalcedony and is an opaque impure variety of silica. The red colour in this interesting specimen is due to iron inclusions. Red Jasper can be polished and used as a gemstone and also historically has been used to make seals and snuff boxes.
