TITLE NAUTILUS FOSSIL 20134
DESCRIPTION Nautilus is the common name for a type of marine cephalopod which first appeared some 500 million years ago and survives to this day. It has a very pleasing form and with this polished specimen the suture lines are clearly visible. These lines indicate the various chambers that the nautilus created as it grew. It lived in the end chamber as it swam around our ancient seas.
