TITLE PLACENTICERAS MEEKI AMMONITE
DESCRIPTION Placenticeras Meeki is an ammonite species from the Late Cretaceous, that is some 70 million years ago. These cephalopods were fast moving nektonic carnivores and this particular specimen comes from Mexico. Its whole form is expossed and polished and also some of the stone matrix remains to testify where it once lay. It suface is beautifully and subtly patterned.
