TITLE ORTHOCERAS PLATE 18063
DESCRIPTION Orthoceras were ancient mollusks with long conical shells living in the Silurian Age some 400 million years ago. They are the earliest recognisable animals and are ancestors to our modern day squid. This good sized plate contains around seventeen such specimens found in their original matrix. Both the rock matrix and the shells have been carefully polished to create this impressive panel.
