TITLE THRESHING SLEDGE TURKISH 16837
DESCRIPTION A primative agricultural impliment referred to as a threshing sledge. It was dragged across the barn floor over the gathered grain in order to seperate the chaff from the wheat.
However, this utilitarian object has very decorative and sculptural qualities when displayed on a wall of say a converted farm dwelling. The slightly curved and shaped pine panel has pieces of knapped flint inserted into it. Many are now missing leaving just the intriguing sockets where the flints once were.
