Hardest of all to find are flaggons and ginger beer from your own town or village, so this small, twin glazed, stoneware flaggon is a really nice find. Likely to hold one gallon and thrown without a handle, the transfer print reads A.L.Horne. Moreton-in-Marsh. Vinegar. Hornes were the grocers in the 19th and early 20thC in Moreton, and this item dates from the 1950's. Unless indicated, as here, these flaggons always contained cider. Marked Vinegar makes the item a little bit more unusual.
