They is a lovely patina to this copper harvest jug which only great age can create. It is Victorian and has a V.R. stamp to its lip and the hand stamped letters 2 GALLON to its rim. It is a more bulbous form than later harvest jugs and clearly visible is the dovetail seam where the two sections of the jug were joined. Used in an alehouse for beer and cider this is a wonderful piece to sit on a period oak coffer.
