TITLE DIGGING SHOE
DESCRIPTION This is a good example of a digging shoe complete with its original leather strap. They were used by the gardener to protect his leather boot from the iron of the spade. Of practical necessity with the high cost of resoling boots due to constant wear and the relatively low wages of a Victorian gardener.
